Zakky's Story

Adopting my little zante stray was the best decision I ever made!

I adopted a young dog from the streets of Tsilivi in October 2015.

He now lives with me and my boyfriend and fits in so well. His name is Zakky, he has such an amazing character and is adapting to life in Scotland very well!

I first seen him running around the streets and instantly fell in love with him. He is the goofiest little dog with the biggest heart.

I fed him, gave him water and he followed me down to my hotel at the beach so I played around with him four hours and knew that I couldn't go home without him.

If I was to leave him it was very possible that he would die. As I was there in October this was the end of the summer season which means no tourists would be around after October. Many of the stray dogs and cats rely on tourists to give them food so a lot starve to death when the aren't there.

I got in touch with Zante Strays and they promised me they would look after my boy and get him sent over to live with me!

I found the process with getting my little baby over to me from Greece extremely good!! Can not fault Zante Strays at all, they gave my baby a second chance at life and do so to many other stray animals in Greece.

The day I had to fly back to Scotland I left Zak with a woman who owned a cafe on the beach and within a couple of days Zante Strays had collected him and had him at the vets getting his treatment and vaccinations done straight away.

I was updated with photos and messages about Zak which put my mind at ease knowing he was in such good hands.

After his vet treatment he stayed with Jamie who works for Zante Strays and she always kept me updated with his process and uploaded many photos and videos for me to watch of Zak!

I paid for all his preparation and transport to the UK.

Within two months I had Zak home with me, just in time for Christmas! The whole process was extremely easy and very fast!

I am so grateful for Zante Strays and love seeing other stories on Facebook of the many other dogs and cats they have rescued and found forever homes for!

Thanks again to all that helped in the process with getting Zakky home to me!

I have attached a photo collage of my little Zante stray and me loving life in Scotland
