This lovely dog was have called Athina
She was an “owned” dog can you believe it !!!!
The volunteer noticed how Athina was living and made the brave decision to confront the “owner” about her condition and Athina is now in our care where she will receive proper treatment and be cared for…
She was covered with so so many ticks, the previous owners had used petrol on her to try and kill the ticks (apparently an old Greek remedy !!!!) sadly we think this may have effected her sight as a result
As you can see she has a big very nasty old wound on her frount leg which is very inflamed. She has been taken to the vet where she had a bath to get rid of the all the petrol, a treatment to kill the ticks and meds against nausea caused by the petrol fumes !!!!
Her old wound was cleaned and dressed and she is now receiving Antibiotics for her wound.
She is now feeling much better !!!!
Her leg will be monitored she may need a skin transplant or Laser treatment to heal the wound later on. She is an older dog at around 9 years old…We want to give her the chance of a better future after the terrible life she has had
