Meet Dom ! He was found by a volunteer at Porto Koula. He was wandering around her home a while but he was always escaping when he was in the fencing. So one other volunteer took him to her pens. He is a lovely large boy around 25 kilos and was born approximately June 2016. He is great with other dogs but not cats. He is a very smart boy and a very easy learner. Please share so this special fellow can get his forever home xx
Dom has Leish. Leish is a tropical disease passed to dogs by a tiny sand fly and is common in all Mediterranean countries. Leish CANNOT be passed to another dog or human so please do not worry, this cannot happen. A dog on medication with a good healthy diet, regular worming and flea treatment can live for as many years as a dog without Leish. The cost of treatment is low, the dog will need to take one tablet a day and the cost of these tablets is around 5 euros a month. For anyone adopting a dog with Leish from us, we will provide one year’s supply of the tablets. Also the adoption cost is covered by us and only the transport fee would apply. We can also send you a fact sheet explaining a little more about Leish. Please consider giving a Leish dog a home, they are just as loving and sweet as any other dog and will be a lovely member of the family. They have this condition through no fault of their own.
