Fred and George (aka the Weasley twins for adoption) 🧡🧡
Fred and George were rescued just before Christmas from Kypseli by a volunteer from Tragaki Cat Rescue. She found them by chance when a local told her about an injured dog and she went to check it out. To her surprise she found a colony of cats she didn’t know about.
They all ran towards her desperate for food. She noticed George immediately as he was limping on his front paw. She had a cat carrier in her car and managed to scoop him up quickly. Fred on the other hand – not so easy! She could tell they were brothers and I didn’t want to separate them. They were the only small kittens there and it was a remote spot in the middle of winter so she vowed that she would go back and rescue Fred.
An x ray showed that George had a fish hook impailed in his paw. The vet removed it and he received antibiotics, spot on etc. A few days later the volunteer returned to the colony to catch Fred and reunited them ♥️
They have been in foster care for over 3 months now. During this time they have been neutered, fully vaccinated, including rabies which is required to travel internationally, microchipped and they are free of parasites due to regular treatment. They are healthy growing boys who are around 6 months old and are now ready to find their forever home.
George is super friendly and seeks affection constantly. He rubs up against his fosterer wants pets all the time, runs to her when she enters the room as he’s always pleased to see her and has just started sitting on her lap. He is shy with new people but warms up quickly.
Fred is the shyer twin and is much more reserved. He purrs and is happy to be around you and always plays but he likes to sit about a couple of feet away, for now. He does like to be pet more recently but on his own terms. He will need time and patience for his confidence to grow. He’ll be a lap cat in time with the right family.
This playful pair are completely bonded. They sleep together, cuddle each other and groom each other. They must be adopted together. They would be suited to a home without young children as they get startled by loud noises and do not like to be picked up, yet. Fred and George need an indoor home where their personalities can continue to flourish in a safe and relatively quiet environment.
