Meet Tore (boy)
Tore was found in the mountains covered in nasty wounds by Swiss tourists.. He was wandering around lost, alone and looking for help.. The tourists took him to a vet for treatment and to ask for advice on what would become of Tore..
He came to the shelter to us.. He has been with us a few weeks now and his wounds have healed. He is a very friendly boy and he loves human company and he gets along well with other dogs..
Tore has a lot of energy for an older dog and he loves to play in the playpen running after a ball ⚽️
Tore was born in September 2013 and is around 15 kilos.
He has tested positive for Leishmania (Leish)
Leish is a disease dogs contract through being bitten by a sandfly which only exists in Mediterranean countries. Leish is controlled by daily medication, with early detection and being aware of symptoms being key to ensure it can be kept under control, as well to treat any possible relapses later on in life. A dog with leish can live totally normal and happy lives with the right treatment and knowledge. Zante Strays support all of our leish dog adopters and will always offer support and guidance for as long as you may need it.
