We have called her Zoi which means life in Greek.
Her Story is a sad one 🥲
She was “dropped off” at the shelter by an older gentleman claiming he found her at his property.. The Volunteers were extremely upset by the condition that this sweet natured dog was in.
She is emancipated and has lost most of her hair. Which leads us to believe that she has been suffering in this condition for a long time..😡 She was taken to the vet where she has been diagnosed with Cancer of the jaw. She will need to gain weight before any operation can be performed.
Zoi is currently at our shelter which is sadly not ideal but with so many dogs needing help and not enough foster homes this is the sad reality that we face.. 🥲. We will do all we can for her and we pray that she has the strength to pull through after losing the will to live..She is a young dog at around 2 years old.
Time and Time again we see needless and unnecessary suffering of dogs because some locals seem to think that their life is disposable and donot understand that they feel pain and suffering just as we do.
Time for change here on Zante.. The few Volunteers are tired and upset that the constant flow of unwanted and neglected animals continues even after we (and the other charities) on Zante have re homed so many.. When will the powers that be in Greece uphold the animal laws and give us more support financially (that is set aside for us by the government)
We live in hope 😔
